The older I get, the more of a bookworm I become! There is nothing better to me than curling up with a good book after a long day at work, or when Remi is napping. I made it my goal to read 15 books this year, and as of writing this blog, I’ve read 6 of the 15! I’m pretty confident I can hit 15, especially with summer being here!
Today I wanted to spill some of my favorite books I’ve read so far this year. If you know me, you know I love a good thriller that sucks you in! This is a bit of a change in pace compared to my normal blogs, but you guys always ask for book recommendations, so I’m here to help. Keep reading what I've read so far this year and quick blurb of each (without too many spoilers).
Pretty Little Wife by Darby Kane
In a tiny little idyllic college town, people start disappearing. First a student, then the husband of Lila Ridgefield. Not too long after a pattern emerges, a third person disappears, and the town realizes that these aren’t coincidences. As the police scramble to find out what’s happening, only one person isn’t worried. She’s confused instead, because she was the last person to see his body, and now it’s gone.
The Last Flight by Julie Clark
In this book, Claire Cook looks like she has it all. She has the perfect marriage, a manhattan home, and a household staff to wait on her at every moment. Little does the world know, she’s also in an extremely toxic marriage. In an effort to escape, she books a ticket out of the country, and on her way, she meets a woman who is in a situation almost as bad as her own. In a moment of desperation, they switch tickets, and Claire ends up on a flight to Puerto Rico instead. Once she lands she finds out that her original flight crashed, and the woman she traded tickets with is now dead… then it all unravels.
The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn
This book has blown up in the last few years, so if you haven’t read it, this is your sign! The Woman In The Window is about a woman named Anna who lives alone in a huge house, spending her days drunk with wine. One day, a family moves in across the street - and then she witnesses the unthinkable. But what is real? What is her imagination?
Local Missing Woman by Mary Cubic
This book is about a small town where women start going missing. First Shelby vanishes, then a woman named Meredith and her 6 year old daughter vanish just blocks away from where the first woman was last seen.
Delilah suddenly reappears 11 years later, and the rest of the novel is all about unraveling what happened to the woman.
Little Secrets by Jennifer Hillier
In this book, It looks like Marin has the perfect life. She’s married to her college sweetheart, and both of them run their own dream businesses. Everything looks incredible until her son goes missing. This destroys Marin. After a year, the case has gone cold, and so has her relationship. She hired a private investigator to take the reins, but instead of finding her son, she finds out her husband is having an affair. This gives her the spark she needs to find answers.
The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave
When Hannah Hall receives a note from her husband right before he disappears, and it says “Protect her”, she knew what she had to do. Bailey was her husband's 16 year old daughter, who has already lost her mother, and how her father. Soon Hannah realizes that her husband isn’t who he said he was, and his daughter might be the only key to figuring it out. Together, they set out to find the truth, and grow together in the process.
There’s nothing better than a good book, right? I’m always looking for book recommendations, so if you have any suggestions based on what you’ve read above, please DM me! I need some to add to my list!
