Are You Running Your Biz, or Is It Running You?
Do you run your business, or does your business run you?
Business owners, do you ever feel like you’re running around like a chicken with your head cut off? Been there, done that.
There are so many moving pieces, clients, and tasks to focus on. It’s HARD to find a process that works & allows you to have some peace of mind at the end of the day. I think the biggest favor we can do for ourselves is find a way to work smarter, not harder. This way, we can have freedom and time back on our side.
Building out processes & utilizing different softwares for different tasks has been such a huge help to me & my business. The more we have on our plates to handle on our own, the higher chance there is for error, forgetting tasks, and getting disorganized! We all learn that the hard way in business, right?!
I’m going to cut straight to the chase here with three programs I couldn’t function without (seriously, these are life savers).
Honeybook: You have probably heard me talk about this platform before. There’s a reason I keep bringing it up… it’s that good. Honeybook manages all of my clients from start to finish. When someone inquires with me, it comes through Honeybook. When I send out their contract, it’s through Honeybook. When they pay me, it’s through Honeybook. You get the point. This software manages projects seamlessly for creatives, and it is almost impossible to drop the ball on anything with Honeybook running things for me. You can customize Honeybook to take care of automates workflows, house all your templates, and sooo much more. Take it from me, your biz is better off with Honeybook in it!

Later: When social media is a big piece of our businesses, planning for it is crucial. This doesn’t mean you have to post everyday or have a strict plan week by week, but it’s SO freeing to get your social media tasks out of the way ahead of time. Nobody likes to scramble to post something because of a couple days of inactivity. Using Later helps me get on top of my social media tasks AND it helps me to plan out the look of my feed. As a photographer, that’s a necessity!
Quickbooks: This one is a non-negotiable for me & my biz. Quickbooks houses all of my finances throughout the year. Having a system in place to keep track of income, expenses, and everything else logistics-wise that goes on in my different avenues of business has streamlined my life a ton. Starting on Quickbooks will give you peace of mind throughout the year AND clear up the headache at the end of the year when you’re getting your accounting together.
