All About Editing

I didn’t intend to become known in the photography industry for editing, but I’m also not surprised that it's the topic I’ve been asked to educate on the most because I’m admittedly a total nerd for all things editing.

After graduating with my degree in photography, I realized just how much my formal education contributed to the way I was able to manipulate colors and lighting in images to create a balanced edit.

Soon after creating one of my first DC Preset Packs (hi, Pack One) I realized just how much fun I had sitting at my desktop for hours tweaking settings until I got the perfect “after” image I was hoping for.

Through all the pivots and transitions in my business, I've always held onto my love for editing. Each year, we've released a new pack that represent the evolution of my style, with DC Presets Pack Five being the most recent. The new format that we created with Pack Five, a base + modifiers, sparked the desire to do a complete revamp of all the former packs, to make sure they are the best they can be, reflect Lightroom updates, and include new features and editing education, so that you're equipped for the best edits possible.

Over the years I’ve released more products around editing than I ever thought was possible. In light of launching my most recent preset updates, I figured it was time I put all of the DC Editing resources in one place for you to easily access.

Let’s kick it off with my absolute favorite FREE resource, a 4-Day Video Series where you can hear from me through video tutorials to help elevate your editing: Sign up for The 4 Day Editing Series here.

If you’ve already watched the editing series and you’re ready for an even deeper dive into perfecting your editing – take a peek at these resources from my shop:

The Lightroom Toolkit

Sometimes presets and color correcting can’t do everything, so that’s why I created the Lightroom Toolkit. Inside you’ll find 15 presets that can be used as brush, gradient or radial filters. They are designed to selectively enhance or correct atmosphere, beauty, exposure and color in your image.

The Editing Course

If you’re struggling to achieve the edits you're hoping for, understand all the features of Lightroom, or just want to understand how to take your edits to the next level in a way that fits your style, this course was designed with you in mind. In this deep-dive 10 module course, I share everything I know about editing from my college education + 14 years in the photography industry. You’ll be guided through every step of the editing process so that you can continue mastering your craft.

DC Desktop Presets for Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw

DC LUTs Presets

DC Mobile Presets

Timeless and effortless desktop, LUTs and mobile presets for the modern photographer - newly updated with modifiers and editing educational videos.

The Camera Settings Guide

This course came to be after hearing some DC Presets users say: “I can’t seem to get them to look the way I want them to on my photos.”. I took the time to dive deeper into people’s troubles and found one main thing to be true: Many photographers were needing support in mastering their camera first. Presets can’t magically fix a poorly shot image. After learning manual and better understanding their camera settings, they were able to bring to life their dream photos using presets. This course is my best seller (after presets) and walks through the basic components of your camera to help photographers master shooting in manual and nailing the perfect shot in camera, to make editing a breeze.

DC Preset Collaboration Packs

If you have and love DC Presets and you’re looking to add more beautiful edits to your preset collection, I have collaborated with some of my very favorite photographers to bring you DC Presets you know & love infused with styles from other amazing photographers.

Rise Photo Academy

I couldn’t list my editing resources without also listing my most extensive education resource yet – The Academy! With several courses inside, Rise has you covered with everything you need to know to book your dream clients, shoot and edit like a pro, stay organized, and take your business to the next level.

Okay friends, I hope this blog was helpful and you were able to find incredible editing resources that will take your photography business to the next level.
